At the same time John Lewis (aka Cole Brothers) closed its doors never to reopen Sheffield's Debenhams did the same in March 2021.
The painting: It's dark (blue hour) and a large department store, of a 60's-70's type of modernist glass retail architecture can be see. A large sign with the words "Debenhams" stands over the entrance. The only light in the picture is a street light that stands in front of the building. The windows are empty and the doors are very definitely closed.
