'Doors and Snow' shows a couple of doors of the Lansdowne Estate (which is behind the towers portrayed in 'The Lockdown Triptych'). You can see sodium lights so what's being depicted is before 2016 (the snows of 2013 to be precise). This is very much a precursor of the Uncertain Spaces project where I was beginning to get a sense of my own style and technique. I think this may be the first painting where I was distinctly attracted to the lamp light of a scene over any other subject. I love the contrasting colours of the light blue with the sodium orange on the highlighted snow.
